Hello lovelies! Today I am discussing 5 super easy ways to ensure that you eat healthier while in college! I know that college can be an incredibly stressful and busy time in your life, but it’s still important (obviously!) that you take care of yourself – both physically and mentally. Healthy eating is something that can easily be overlooked in a world full of pizza and takeout. However, there are some really easy, simple things you can do to take steps in the right direction to eating healthier! Here are a few!

Stock up on the staples

Utilize your mini fridge (or fridge if you are in an apartment) and storage spaces to the max by stocking up on a few key food staples that will give you the energy you need! This will ensure that when you feel like snacking, you have something healthier on hand (like nuts or multi-grain crackers) to conquer your hunger!

Plan your meals

Take a little bit of time at the start of the week to plan out what meals you will be eating. This will make it incredibly easier when/if you head to the grocery store, or if you are making trips to your campus’s dining hall. Plan ahead so that you can keep track of your progress and monitor how well you are doing!

Listen to your body

When you are hungry, you are hungry. Learn how to eat until you are full so that you can stop all those mid-day cravings that may lead to some unhealthy choices. Furthermore, also know when to stop eating – i.e. if you have an all-you-can-eat meal plan, I suggest not eating ~everything~ you can eat every day you are there.

Find food-inspiration

Look up fun healthy recipes on Instagram or Pinterest and get experimenting! Cooking can be a lot of fun if you are willing to try new things, so don’t be afraid to be a little adventurous!

Establish a routine

Lastly, make sure you have an eating routine for yourself. I know college can get a little crazy, especially with class schedules, but it’s important to consistently feed yourself at the same time. Your body will learn to adjust to this schedule and won’t feel hungry at that strange 2 a.m. time slot.
