Hello lovelies! Today I’m discussing ways to find scholarships to pay for college. Read on for a few ways to find these scholarships, and a few tips on how to apply!

Check out the financial aid office

Start your search online on your college’s financial aid office website. College’s often have a lot of financial resources and scholarship opportunities available for students, so figure out how to apply and do so ASAP!

Make sure to fill out the FAFSA

You can get government aid that will help directly pay for tuition and other expenses by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The deadline has moved to a lot earlier in the school year, but the application is online and walks you through the process. Don’t miss out on the easy chance at free money!

Organizations and local businesses

Search for scholarships from local organizations and businesses that are related to your field of interest. This past year, I was awarded a scholarship based on my activities and experiences in the Communications field!

Conduct free searches online

There are many websites out there that offer free scholarship tools. It’s super simple and you can do the searches while laying in your bed in your pajamas. Scholarships can range from merit-based to ridiculous creative challenges, so really there’s a ton of options out there for every kind of student.

Tips on how to apply

  • Get personal – share who you are in your application
  • Follow the prompts and answer the questions completely
  • Stick to the word limit
  • Proofread and have someone else read through your work
  • Submit it early – this shows that you are motivated and organized
