Hello lovelies! Today I am back to discuss why you should consider taking summer classes during your college years. I personally took summer classes this summer online while I was in New York, and I absolutely loved the experience and how it helped me move closer to graduation and finish up some general requirements. Summer is the perfect time to get ahead, whether that’s in your career or in your classes. Here are a few reasons why summer classes could be right for you.
Catch up or move ahead
If there’s a class you will need to retake in order to graduate, summer is the perfect opportunity to catch up on these requirements without falling behind. Alternately, you can plan ahead and finish requirements during the summer so you don’t have to worry about them during the regular semester.
Lighten your workload
By taking summer classes, you can take fewer credits during fall/spring, which will make it easier for you to manage your work, job, internship, or relaxation time.
Summer classes usually run at an accelerated pace to a regular class. One of the classes I took last summer online was only three weeks long, for instance. Instead of an entire semester in a class you don’t want to take, you can get it done in a shorter amount of time. (Note: the workload is usually the same, so there is some downsides to this as well)
Smaller classes and more chances for interaction
If you are taking classes on your actual campus during the summer, chances are they will have fewer people than you are used to, which will give you more chances to interact with your professor and get help when you need it. Ultimately, summer classes are a great opportunity to network with your professors and learn more about your interests.
